We want to build AI that benefits humanity. Sigma’s approach to delivering high-quality data — ensuring it is accurate, representative, and balanced — also integrates ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible business practices that respect our communities and the planet.

As our founders emphasize, “Sustainability is a daily commitment ingrained in every aspect of our company.” Our approach is reflected in strategic partnerships, hiring practices, employee training programs, and environmental initiatives at our Madrid and London offices.

Our newly released 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report highlights our progress so far and our ambitious sustainable and ethical corporate goals and values.

Making a difference: How Sigma is driving positive change

Guided by Sigma’s core values, our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) program shows how we create a positive impact for our employees, communities, and the planet.

Here are a few key insights from our CSR report:

Environmental responsibility

We are taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint, aiming for a 10% reduction in emissions per employee annually. Aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement, we are committed to reaching carbon neutrality by 2050.

Key environmental achievements include:

  • Moving towards 100% renewable energy in our Madrid and London offices.
  • Distributing sustainable, reusable water bottles to reduce the use of 70,000 plastic bottles.
  • Implementing waste recycling programs and switching to 100% recycled paper in our office spaces.
  • Contributing to local ecosystems by planting more than 80 native trees in Spain.
  • Saving more than 2.2 million liters of water since 2021 in our Madrid office with dual-flush toilets.

Social responsibility

Through collaborative partnerships with more than 30 organizations, we support education, employment, and diversity initiatives. Our commitment to diversity is reflected in our multicultural workforce, with professionals from over 120 countries and speakers of more than 600 languages and dialects.

Key social impact highlights:

  • 70% of our workforce is women.
  • We actively support organizations promoting equal employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
  • We prioritize hiring individuals who have experienced long-term unemployment.
  • We support international, non-governmental organizations focused on children’s education and emergency aid for vulnerable communities.
  • We support speakers of minority and endangered languages, which are at risk of disappearing.

Governance responsibility

We are committed to creating a work environment that’s transparent, accountable, and follows ethical standards. In August 2024, we formally aligned with the United Nations Global Compact, adopting its ten principles for responsible businesses.

Highlights of our governance practices:

  • We strictly adhere to minimum wage laws and strive to provide competitive, living wage salaries globally.
  • We’ve developed an Employee Handbook to promote ethical conduct and responsible business practices.
  • We deliver a quarterly CSR Social Impact Report to certain partners.
  • We proactively communicate ESG initiatives to employees, encouraging them to participate.
  • We demonstrate transparency by registering our CO2 emissions in Spain.
